Bouclé, Velvet or Textured: Choosing Your Bed Frame Fabric

Every Revalis Living bed frame is available in a range of bouclé, velvet and textured weave fabrics. The frame and headboard shape set the silhouette, but the fabric is what actually sets the mood in the room — so it's worth a proper look before you decide.

Bouclé

A looped, textured weave with a soft, tactile surface. Bouclé has a relaxed, slightly informal feel that works well in Scandi, minimalist and contemporary rooms. It's forgiving with light — the looped texture diffuses it rather than reflecting it, which softens the overall look of the headboard.

Available in shades including Boucle Ivory, Boucle Beige and Boucle Mink — all light, neutral tones that pair easily with most existing bedroom colour schemes.

Signature Velvet

A smoother, more formal finish with a subtle sheen. Velvet reads as more traditional or luxurious depending on the colour, and tends to make a bolder visual statement than bouclé, particularly in darker shades.

Our Signature Velvet range spans Cream, Beige, Mink, Grey, Black and Stone — light neutrals for a softer look, through to Black for a genuine statement headboard.

Natural Weave

A textured, woven finish that sits between bouclé and a plain linen-style weave — visible texture without the looped surface of bouclé. Available in Cream and Beige, it suits rooms leaning towards a natural, organic material palette.

Heritage Cream

A dedicated cream finish with its own distinct texture, sitting alongside the other ranges as a lighter, classic option.

How to actually decide

  • Think about the room's existing palette. Light neutrals (Ivory, Cream, Beige) work in almost any room; Black and Stone velvet make more of a statement and suit rooms already built around bolder colours.
  • Consider the light in the room. Bouclé's looped texture softens both natural and artificial light, which can help in rooms with strong overhead lighting.
  • Think about upkeep. Lighter fabrics show the room's character more but may need slightly more care around marks; darker velvets hide day-to-day wear more easily.

Order a sample before you decide

Colour and texture are hard to judge from a screen. We'd always recommend ordering fabric samples before committing to a full bed frame, so you can see and feel exactly how a fabric reads in your own room's light.
